How to choose the right tipping bucket for your tractor
The choice depends on width, tractor power and tipping type.
1. Width and volume
The 120 cm bucket holds about 0.32 m³ and the 140 cm bucket about 0.38 m³; both carry up to 400 kg. The wider bucket moves more material per trip, while the narrower one is easier to handle in tight spaces.
2. Power and hitch
The 120 cm bucket works with 14 to 40 hp tractors and the 140 cm bucket with 18 to 40 hp, both with a category 1 three-point hitch. The tractor must lift the bucket's own weight, about 110–125 kg, plus the load.
3. Manual tipping
You fill it by lowering the bucket and reversing, raise it with the lift and empty it by pulling the release lever: the bucket tips and dumps the load. It is a simple solution with no hydraulic hoses, suited to occasional unloading. For frequent or precise unloading there is the hydraulic tipping version.
4. Strength and safety
The bucket is made of Hardox and SSAB steel, with a thicker cutting edge to resist wear. Never stand under a raised bucket, carry loads low and respect the stated capacity.
| Width | Load volume | Capacity | Tractor power | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 120 cm | about 0.32 m³ | 400 kg | 14–40 hp | about 110 kg |
| 140 cm | about 0.38 m³ | 400 kg | 18–40 hp | about 125 kg |
How do you empty a manual release bucket?
Raise the bucket with the tractor lift and pull the release lever: the bucket tips forward and dumps the load by gravity. It latches again when you lower it to the ground.
Manual or hydraulic tipping?
Manual tipping is simpler and cheaper and needs no hydraulic outlet. Hydraulic tipping is controlled from the driving seat and lets you unload gradually: it is worth it if you unload often.
What can the bucket carry?
Soil, gravel, sand, snow, manure, leaves and debris, up to 400 kg. For goods, firewood or tools a transport box with sides is more suitable.
Is the bucket compatible with my tractor?
Yes, if the farm tractor has 14 to 40 hp and a category 1 three-point hitch, and the distance between the lower lift arms matches the one on the product page.
What is the difference between a bucket and a transport box?
The bucket scoops loose material straight from the ground and tips it where needed. The transport box has high sides and is designed to carry goods and materials loaded by hand.
